During the first quarter of 2022, the top five news and magazine apps on the Android platform in Angola demonstrated varying performance trends. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads and active user metrics, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Opera News: breaking & local saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting from 734 at the end of December 2021 and peaking at 1.3K in the week of February 21. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, beginning at around 52.9K and ending at approximately 49.5K by the end of March.

Opera News Lite - Less Data had a more modest download trend, starting with 529 downloads in late December and ending with 398 downloads in the final week of March. The active user count also showed a slight decline from 25.8K to 22.5K over the same period.

Twitter Lite maintained a relatively stable download rate, beginning with 438 downloads at the end of December and slightly decreasing to 324 downloads by the end of March. Active users remained consistent, starting at 423 and ending at 434.

Euronews - Daily breaking news had a notable surge in downloads, particularly from mid-February onwards, peaking at 1.1K in the week of February 21. Active users also increased significantly, starting at 2.6K and reaching 3.4K by the end of March.
